The following four collages are taken from music therapy sessions with a variety of children attending a Child Development Centre.

Joint Music Therapy sessions with a twenty two month old boy and his father.  This youngster is partially sighted and has cerebral palsy.

Individual Music Therapy sessions with a boy of four with childhood autism.

Individual Music Therapy sessions with a girl of three with mild developmental delay.

Group Music Therapy sessions with children between the ages of four and six with a variety of communication difficulties.  The class teacher and two assistants work together with the Music Therapist.

This 'Training Video: Music Therapy for Children on the Autistic Spectrum' is available from the British Society for Music Therapy and is relevant to anyone with an interest in music therapy or autism.  It shows and discusses a wide range of children with various types of autism, having individual and group music therapy sessions.  Interactions occuring in music therapy sessions are compared to interactions between chamber music players, as well as to mother baby interactions.
