HAMPSHIRE MUSICSPACE
Communication and Therapy through Music
…presents its Annual Music Therapy Conference
Improvisation in Music Therapy
Presentation-workshops to be lead by:
Tony Wigram - music therapist,
Risenga Makondo – African musician trained in music therapy
Martin Read – composer and music lecturer
with…
Louise Neale and Cathy Rowland from the Hampshire MusicSpace music therapy team.
These annual conferences are of interest to practising music therapists as further inspiration and for CPD. They are also of interest to those wishing to find out more about music therapy, either on behalf of potential clients, or as a career.
We have planned a mainly practical day this year, looking at improvisation from several different perspectives with the guidance of: a composer, an African musician and from the experiences of 3 practising music therapists.
The aim of the day is to freshly inspire us in our improvisation with clients, and to seek to avoid those frustrating moments of being musically stuck by getting away from our usual responses – whatever these may be for each of us.
We hope you can join us for a refreshing and inspiring day, both musical and clinical.
